Given the idea that I would like to go to Japan on a vision trip, I thought it would be good to start learning some Japanese. After some research I found that Japanese is a hard language to learn. Speaking, reading, and most of all writing can be difficult. Grammar is very different from ours in the USA. After doing some research I found the Japanese equivalent to my name. Deiru is how you read my name in Japanese. The picture you see is my name in sans-serif text using Katakana characters. I found this name by gong to this Japanese Translator web page. More information will come as I try to learn this interesting and difficult language.

Hi Dale, I found your site through Tony Waghorn in the UK's recent post on OMF bloggers...
Good idea learning some Japanese! With Katakana the long vowel sounds are done just with a line, so デイル would wind up as デール, like Dale Viljoen, Japan OMFer!
I look forward to following your blog!
